Economy Rod & Reel Combo
This was another attempt to not only downsize, but to fish on a budget, I had previously bought a (telescopic) rod and reel combo for only 12€.
I went to a swim that I had not fished before, I used and an open end feeder with a sweetcorn and groundbait mix, and three corn on the hook.
This combo had previously handled a small barbel with no problems, but I wanted to see how it would handle a carp.
I normally play fish quite hard, but I didn’t have enough faith in the rod to do that, most of the action is in the top section, and I just felt if the rod had a design weakness, that's where it would be.
